Sardinia - Off Road
The setting of the last Italian Grand-Prix, this jaggy countryside is full of fellow off-road enthusiast who will be keen to show you their country, from the tops of the Mountains overshadowing the sea to the beaches where we can set our bikes aside for a quick dip in the inviting waters.

A quality welcome
Nestled in the middle of the hills, overlooking the sea, we are welcomed by guesthouses or holiday cottages belonging to local farmers and goat herders. Rush roofs, white washed lime walls… the architecture is simple but restful.
Sardinia is a place reputed for the quality of its produce and Sardinians are proud of their specialities: wines, goats cheeses, cured meats, olive oil, cake… simple but good products which make traditional Sardinian cuisine famous in Italy.
Beyond the countryside...
We head to Fluminimaggiore, in the South-West of the island, situated near to Iglesias (which is about 25Km South of the village). A former mineral mining region this place gives the impression of being in an old Western film set, there are so many old mining buildings, abandoned wagon rails etc. as if the workers at the turn of the century just dropped their tools and left in the middle of work. All of this on a setting of steep mountains, spectacular sand dunes and a turquoise sea…!
